The FSC works to prohibit deforestation, wildlife habitat, and water quality, tightly restrict the use of hardous chemicals, ensure forests are mananged at sustainable rates of growth and harvesting, protect rare old growth forests and the right of indigenous Peoples. They are the gold standard of forest management and their search tool can be used in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Home-owners. and fix & flippers can search based on their zipcode and see where they can purchase lumber, timber, panels, decking & fencing, moulding & millwork, doors, windows, & casework, furniture, engineering wood products, pressure treated wood, factory lumber, veneer, flooring, logs, and more, that are all FSC certified. All these categories can be broken down further to get a more tailored search result giving the user a list and map view of the companies they can find what they're looking for.
