Summary

Trees Charlotte is a public/private nonprofit collaboration to grow, diversify and steward the city’s iconic urban forest. Trained volunteers and science-based programs teach residents about the value of trees and how to plant and care for them. The non-profit has a program holding events where residents can receive 2 free native trees per property supporting Charlotte's tree canapy goals and community vision.

Actionability

Those living in Charlotte can register and attend the Tree Adoption event and receive 2 trees per property and help the city in reaching its tree canopy goals while also receiving a lesson on how to care for their trees. The program appreciates donations but does not require it therefore free trees that improve Charlotte's sustainability.

Justification

This program supports the city's goal of reaching 50% tree canopy by 2050. This increases green spaces, trees aide in shade and air quality, the incorperation of native plants is supported and bringing nature back into the city promotes overall sustainability for its inhabitants.

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
